Why Ben Johnson Really Left Detroit

As a long standing Lions fan, there's been a lot conversations about how the team looks since the departure of Ben Johnson.

Now you can say quite a bit about how much he was a positive influence to our boys in Honolulu Blue. He's an offensive guru: he's creative, daring, and multidimensional.

Since arriving in Chicago, we now get to see Johnson's true personality as a Head Coach. He's more fiery on the sidelines, and loves taking his shirt off in the locker room (suspect).

But, there hasn't been a ton of speculation of why Ben Johnson left. No one really asked.. why? Often times with big media, we accept what we see. Sure it makes sense: head coaching job pays more, sculpting out your own legacy, freedom of decisions. I think we missed something, and I can't keep it a secret anymore.

So you ask me, Moon - why do you think Ben Johnson left? One thing has dug itself deep into my brain, burrowed so deep I can't get it out. The real reason Ben Johnson left the Detroit Lions, Americas team?

He's British and he hates America.

Now I'm not talking Paul McCartney Beatles British. I'm talking Red Coat, taxation without representation British. How did I make this assumption? For one, he's last name is Johnson. The 5th most common last name in England. Hmm...

It almost looks too natural

Johnson's offense has major components of "role fluidity" ex: David Montgomery playing qb, Dan Skipper catching the ball.. You know what sport utilizes Role Fluidity? Soccer (Football). England's national sport!

It's hard to deny, that Ben Johnson isn't leaning hard on his England heritage.

So you may really be digging in now, why leave the lions then?

Detroit has arguably one of the biggest traditions in the NFL. Every fourth Thursday, your family gathers around to be thankful for the Detroit Lions. Turkey, togetherness, political ideology clashing it's the best. I would say outside of the 4th of July, it's arguably the most American holiday we have.

The real question is who doesn't love Thanksgiving? That answer is Ben Johnson. Don't believe me? Here's a picture of him on Thanksgiving, visibly upset.

You just know this guy hates turkey, and asks for Kraft Macncheese

Not enough evidence? Since Dan Campbell has taken the reins at Detroit, they've been coined "America's Team". Hard to believe someone wouldn't want to coach AMERICA's TEAM. There's a certain group who wouldn't that's for sure, British Loyalists that's who!

Think I'm making this up? New York Post wrote this article below.

There's a lot to unpack here. I know you're overwhelmed with emotions, the betrayal runs deep. I couldn't be happier to see the Lions get their get back on Ben Johnson by scheduling them on Thanksgiving this year.

So when you're digging into the turkey, bowing your heads to be thankful. Why don't you be thankful we finally got rid of that brit loyalist, unamerican, lobster back!
